Inverness High School & The REAL  Project

REAL and IHS have been developing a new, and quite ambitious, concept to help the senior pupils.

REAL, a registered charity has been embedded within IHS for 9 years and concerns itself with the development of school students in terms of leadership, self-confidence and ambition, complementing the activities of the school.  One of the unique features of this concept is that this development activity will take place for at least 18 months before the students emerge as potential recruits on the market place.   Another unique feature is that the employers can guide the personal development in skills, knowledge and attitudes towards their own needs, as employers.

I have spoken with six employers in the area and all are very interested in this new approach to increasing the prospects of choosing good recruits who are more likely to stay with the employer and recruits that will contribute more quickly to their organisations.

There is to be a presentation of the concept at 12pm on Wednesday 25th April at IHS and I'm keen to meet as many employers before then as I can.

I would like to meet up with any such employer to explain this idea further and hope that this outline and the attachment provides you with sufficient information to guide me towards possible meetings.  I have attached a brief document below which is available to download outlining a new concept whereby local employers, REAL the charity, mentors for the school students (i.e. yourselves) and the school itself form a partnership to create personal development programmes for the students.
