Message from the Chair Peter Swanson
Our principal objective whilst managed by Working Ventures UK was to work with employers to help disadvantaged people move from worklessness into jobs that would contribute to business productivity and growth.
A number of us felt that it was a shame to see an agency fulfilling such a purpose and having a successful track record being allowed to 'wither on the vine', and have acted to establish a like minded body that can continue the ethos.
Highland Employer Coalition Ltd shares this objective and continues to provide an opportunity for local employers to engage with the employment and skills systems and with Government agencies
In order to influence labour market policies, and raise the profile of the employers' perspective, at both a local and national level.
While WVUK is no longer in existence, Highland Employer Coalition Ltd continues to provide a wealth of experience of initiatives at a regional level and a depth of best practice that we can call upon and feed into, although now quite independent of any government department.
