National Skills Academy for Retail
We are working closely with Inverness College and the National Skills Academy (NSA) who are keen to support local businesses of all sizes.
NSA will visit the Highlands over the coming months to offer Retail Ambassador Training. The training is an excellent development opportunity for all staff whether in Tourism, Hospitality or Retail and will give them the opportunity to promote their sectors to potential future employees. During September & October 2011 National Skills Academy will be holding Mary Portas - Selling and Service Skills Sessions, Skills Shop - Information Sessions and World Host “Sales Powered by Service” Anyone wishing to find out more about the Training Sessions that we are running and if you would like to get involved, for more details and updates please see this section in our news page.
Developed in conjunction with Skillsmart Retail and delivered exclusively through the National Skills Academy for Retail’s skills shops, the Mary Portas Guide to Successful Retailing covers every stage of creating and running a successful retail business. Each Master Class has an invaluable set of hints and tips to improve the performance of all retailers. Master classes are delivered by fully-trained retail experts.
The taster session will give you the opportunity to see how the Classes are presented and just what input Mary has in the content of each Class, it will provide you with the opportunity to meet with other retailers and people from the retail world and other sectors.
Information about the taster sessions will be posted on this website in the very near future. There will only be a limited amount of places for these sessions so please contact us as soon as dates become available to confirm your place.
The NSA Skills Shop will be offering World Host Customer Service Training from summer 2011. World Host training is the officially recognised customer service standard for the Olympics and the Ryder Cup. To register your interest contact Anne Whitehead at anne.whitehead@hiemco.org.uk
