Our Vision
Our work with employers falls into 3 broad categories
1. Direct involvement; meeting and discussing an individual employer’s recruitment needs and investigating where and why they are not being fully met. We work with the employer/s to assist them to investigate a range of options which will allow them access to a wider pool of applicants, thereby supporting the business need. Ideally we use the learning we have gained to benefit other employers.
2. Sectoral involvement; by identifying skill gaps in an industry sector and liaising with employers, economic or skills agencies, training providers and support agencies we can increase the opportunity to a wider population.
3. Thematic approach; we include employers in the design and rollout of projects which re-ignite the desires, skills and ambitions of unemployed people, giving them the confidence and motivation to move towards sustained employment.
The degree of involvement varies greatly and is dictated by the employers desire and time, from a facilitation and brokerage role through to active involvement in the support, design and implementation of bespoke activity.
Highland Employer Coalition Ltd offices are located within those of Highland Opportunity Ltd, an enterprise trust owned by the Highland Council which provides discretionary financial assistance and serviced workspace to small businesses. It is also the Highland agent for the Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust, the host for the Enterprise Europe Network, the provider of Business Gateway and Employability services and is co-located with The Inverness Chamber of Commerce, The Prince’s Trust and HISEZ CIC, the social enterprise support body.
